About The Royal House of Goose
We are a podcast, a pile of pamphlets, and an ongoing argument with the eighteenth century.
The founders were not marble. They were vain, brilliant, petty, occasionally poisoned, and forever knifing each other in print under invented names. We find that version far more instructive than the statue — and considerably funnier.
The Podcast
Twice a week. One guest, one subject. We book practitioners, not pundits — people who have actually sat in the legislature, run the emergency operations center, flown into the hurricane, worked the intelligence file, kept the gun shop open, read the bill. Every episode is built around tips and tricks: the portable, teachable part of what someone knows, extracted before they get a chance to be polite about it.
Opinions belong to the people who hold them. We don't police our guests, and we don't tidy them up afterwards.
The Written Side
Codex Politica is the straight-faced one — a plain-language, non-partisan field guide to primary sources. Where the documents live, how the machinery actually works, and why Black's Law Dictionary will tell you more than any cable segment ever produced.
The Chamber Pot is not straight-faced at all. Twenty-eight pages of period-accurate slander, in the grand tradition of men who destroyed each other in print and signed somebody else's name to it.
The Privy Counsel
Text-message historical fiction. Founders and monarchs in the group chat, saying out loud what the letters only imply. Most of the jokes are real history. Some of the real history is worse than the jokes.
Who
Hosted by Christopher Davino — Goose. Produced with Terri, the technomantress, who keeps the feeds clean, the servers upright, and the entire apparatus from falling over.
Elsewhere
Substack for the written dispatches. X for the feed and the fights. TikTok for Melting Goose. Merch, for wearing the House.
